The Bendy Controversy, Revisited | The Story of Joey Drew Studios

  • Fixed worldbuilding; go beyond fan theories or build upon them (credit writers too)
  • Hire fan artists, reward those directly (via profit and artist credit)
  • Hire more management tools and people as you studio grows bigger
  • Have multiple leads, managers, senior positions, and staff
  • Studio awareness staff (videos and outsiders looking in); to help fox company complaints and problems
  • Gameplay that ties into the plot (directly or BTS)
  • Diverse characters w/o the plot always being tied to them un-fluently
  • Understanding and not letting political views divide people around you; it’s not going to end the world individually, but you can distant yourself from them
  • Acknowledge your true growth and development as a company, especially if you’re not a small company anymore
  • “Dreams Come To Life”, a good example blending the lore and IRL world topics within a game
  • Inspiration > Stagnation: Individuality with your inspiration & creativity
  • Appreciate those who are inspired by you
  • Lawsuits can put major chains on companies, employees, creativity, and a voice.
  • Indirect and direct leadership, feedback & management, build a relationship and keep in constant contact; be more than a boss giving commands.
  • Validate your employees and hard work, and listen to those who know more in a certain field than you
  • Schedule ideas and projects in a fixed timeline
  • Innovate as you grow as a company, don’t let fear get to a vision for your company or your employers & employees; don’t settle for less and safety in a product
  • Save team’s work for later projects if something gets canceled or something new occurs
  • Don’t create uncertainty with your workers or with yourself
  • Appreciate and create a product that gives longevity, profitability, and creativity for your audience; give them a gift
  • With a large team, spread out work and preferences in parallels
  • Don’t rely on players to build a complete story or to market a product better
