To relieve aggression and stress in unique ways.

This is a list themed upon different types of activities based upon emotions that an individual wants to release and transform to a more tranquil mindset afterwards.

The following practices are traditional hobbies to replace frequent thoughts, actions, or anxiousness of any form of physical self-harm or damage, minimising suicidal or threatening thoughts, and the reminder of control, presence, and reassurance:

To Relieve Aggression (This will release all those bad vibes and tire you out. Afterwards, you will feel calmer and have a lot of weight lifted off of you)

  • Punch a pillow, boxing bag; any soft surface that won’t cause or inflict damage
  • Listen to fast-pace, aggressive music: Dubstep, metal, hardcore, screamo, trap, drum and bass
  • Yell or scream into a pillow, inside a closet or closed area that won’t cause outside disturbances
  • Play violent video games to relieve aggression: Shooting games, fighting, boxing or wrestling games
  • Chew gum or a jawbreaker
  • Squeeze or scratch a stress ball, foam, cloth, clay
  • Write or draw how you feel (don’t hold back yet don’t show anyone if it’s too graphic or dark)
  • Cry, it’s completely necessary
  • Talk to yourself or someone you can rely on to understand you and keep the conversation personal
  • Eating & cooking (That might be weird; but maybe chopping up meats, fruits, or vegetables or cooking a basic meal can result in some satisfaction, plus some food afterwards)
  • Tearing sheets of paper & cardboard
  • Sleeping; seems basic but will help tremendously

More Creative Ways

  • Write an imaginary interview about yourself, your life, and personal battles
  • Write a personal therapy session; imagine an answer questions as if a therapist would
  • Ask yourself questions about what you can do to improve so your life can change, how did this happen, or what made you angry to begin with? Is it serious or will it affect the future if I don’t think or act correctly?
  • Carving; of course do not carve anything that holds value, is expensive, or in any wall or floor. Start with a chunk of wood or a nearby tree
  • Draw or paint on your skin/body; realize that your body is a canvas for art, not a cutting board
  • Pick at flowers, grass, berries
  • Comb or cut your hair; Neatly and in a style that suits you
  • Run, exercise, or lift weights
  • Watch videos of other unfortunate individuals who suffered way greater than you (A bit cliché, but you will learn something)
  • Ripping apart old technology, books, fabric, useless material
  • Masturbate (Yes a bit explicit, but I’m pretty sure some reading do it already)

To Calm Yourself Afterwards

  • Listening to your favorite playlist
  • Sleep or nap
  • Write or draw freely
  • Talk, text on the socials or DM
  • Sitting outside on the porch, taking a walk
  • Take a break from whatever made you made, people included
  • Return to religious and spiritual activities
  • Tell someone you love them or tell someone you need to be loved
  • Think about how many people fought their way to see you succeed (teachers, parents, siblings, or ancestors even.)
  • Your favorite hobby

Try This (Things I enjoy personally)

  • Pinterest (Save and look up images to your preferences)
  • Self-jam sessions (Plug in the headphones and pace around the room like a maniac)
  • Make music (Electronically with a DAW or with your favorite instrument)
  • Write about your future (To see where you want to go and all the dreams to want to see come into play)
